Why contribute to BAID?
  • Satisfy your permitting requirements for
    working in the Barrow and Atqasuk areas.
  • Be informed!  Locate your research sites relative to others in your work area.
  • Improve the observational legacy of Barrow to enhance environmental change detection.
  • BAID provides opportunity for educational outreach to the local Barrow community and the global scientific community.  


How do I contribute?

1.  Enter your site information into the online data entry form.
       or
2.  Add your sites to the attached Excel spreadsheet which includes several examples.  See Data Dictionary for additional information about the fields we collect.
       or
3.  Download, print and fax the form to    915-747-5808    (attention Craig Tweedie.)
       or
4.  Request DGPS support.  Free Differential GPS support is provided by the graduate students from University of Texas at El Paso, Systems Ecology Laboratory from June 1– August 15 in Barrow and Atqasuk each Summer.  Schedule an appointment for us to tag along with your crew.  DGPS provides horizontal and vertical position with centimeter accuracy.
