Map Gallery

The Map Gallery contains a variety of maps commonly requested for the Barrow Area. Please contact us if you’d like to suggest additional maps for our gallery. If you would like to create your own maps, launch BAID-IMS which provides a tool to export .jpg images. Many of these images are quite large and will take time to download.

2002 Quickbird Satellite Image (Download 6.5 MB jpg) This map covers the Barrow triangle and shows the location of the Barrow Environmental Observatory. This image is intended for use in Powerpoint presentations or publications. The Quickbird imagery is derived from (users should include this citation): Manley, W. F., L. R. Lestak, C. E. Spring 2008 Ice Trails, Barrow, Alaska (Download 563 KB jpg) This map was created by Matt Druckenmiller, Craig George and Lewis Brower for the Barrow community under the Seasonal Ice Zone Observing Network (SIZONET) project. ERS2 SAR imagery derived from BAID-IMS.
